US says mulls with Europe limits on prices for Russian oil

WASHINGTON, Jun 9 (PRIME) -- The U.S. is in talks with Europe on discounts on the prices for Russian oil sold on the global market, the U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan told reporters on Thursday.

“I won’t go beyond what (Treasury) Secretary Yellen said generally because we want to be able to protect space for intensive consultations with our European partners,” he said when asked to comment on Yellen’s statement that there was consideration of an oil price cap on Russia.
